Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

1. Data Controller

HabitCost is operated by RadiantZero ("we," "us," or "our"). For questions about this policy or your data, contact us at habit-cost.tapioca909@passmail.net.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

HabitCost does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. The application runs entirely in your browser. We do not require account creation, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information to use the core service.

3. Local Storage

HabitCost uses your browser's localStorage to save habit data (names, costs, frequencies), preferences (such as theme), and premium license status. This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. We have no access to it.

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, localStorage is treated similarly to cookies. HabitCost's use of localStorage is strictly necessary for the service to function and therefore does not require consent under the "strictly necessary" exemption.

4. Cookies & Tracking

HabitCost does not use cookies, advertising networks, or behavioral tracking technologies of any kind.

5. Third-Party Services

Hosting (Vercel): The application is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, access times) as part of its infrastructure. The legal basis for this processing is Vercel's legitimate interest in operating its hosting platform. These logs are governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy. Your request data may be processed in various countries through Vercel's global CDN infrastructure, subject to Vercel's data processing safeguards.

In the future, we may integrate privacy-respecting analytics and payment processing for premium features. This policy will be updated before any such integration goes live.

6. Data Retention

All habit data is stored in your browser's localStorage and persists until you manually clear it. You can delete all HabitCost data at any time by clearing your browser's site data or using the app's built-in delete functions. We retain no data on our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

HabitCost is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since all data is stored locally and we collect no personal information, there is no data to process from any user, including minors.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and to object to processing. Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times. You can view, modify, or delete all HabitCost data by clearing your browser's localStorage. No request to us is necessary, as we do not hold any of your data. If you have concerns about Vercel's server log processing, please contact us or Vercel directly.

9. Your Rights (US State Privacy Laws)

If you are a resident of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), or any other US state with comprehensive privacy legislation, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. HabitCost collects no personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. There is nothing to disclose, delete, or opt out of. We respect Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals by default, as we perform no tracking.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your privacy rights, please contact us at habit-cost.tapioca909@passmail.net.
